Android phones have took over every other kind of devices within a short time span, now from a casual users to advanced users prefer to use Android devices for their diverse hardware specs suitable for everyone, multitasking and robust power, the power to mod and to use custom roms.
Most of the Android users might be familiar with rooting and custom roms, they improve and add more functionalities to the already awesome android. Cyanogenmod is one of the most popular custom rom developers; they release new roms almost every weeks and are used by almost all the custom modders as a starting point.
Although these mods are a lot better than stock roms, the “GPS error” or “Compass error” is a small bug that has been quite a problem from sometime now. for reasons unknown Cyanogenmod team and lot of other senior developers seems to ignore this bug while adding new features. The main problem was although we could get a successful GPS lock the compass would usually rotate itself or make a small shake like effect meaning we won’t be able to use navigation to a 100%.
After alot of complaints a XDA developer was successful in finding a Fix to the GPS and Compass error in Android. It is said to work with almost all custom roms but specifically for all Cyanogenmod based roms. I have tested it and can say it works exactly as the developer claims.
The fix is a simple flashable zip, you just have flash and viola your done. You may need open-reopen GoogleMaps a couple of times or 1-2 days for the fix to work exactly as claimed. But within the first try you are sure to notice the improvements in.
Due to my carelessness I lost direct link to the XDA thread as well as the name of the Developer behind this fix. I apologize for the fact and will update the details as soon as I could find them again.
